I hope this post comes back to me when it has a short story attached.
The beautiful gleam still shone off his wife’s face; even after a hard day of taking care of their new child. Fork was taken aback by her beauty, and impossibly glad that her genetics had also passed down to their baby.
Spoon could not contain her giggle of happiness as she gently cradled the cooing child, literally seeing herself in her offspring’s face. (Upside down, but still.) What a gorgeous baby! Glancing up, her face shining, she shot a beautiful smile at her husband, and saw his shoulders straighten with pride. They had been together for so long, trying so hard for a child, and finally, the time had come.
Reaching one arm out lovingly, Fork placed it gently on her waist, using the other arm to support the baby, wrapped in a thick cloth blanket. In unison, the two new parents turned their heads to smile proudly at the camera.
After the light had flashed and the moment had been captured forever, Fork turned to his beautiful wife, touching her cheek with his hand. “We should call him Spork,” he whispered lovingly, and hugged his family tight.
I THINK THIS IS THE BEST ONE YET.
